Part-Time Hifdh (Hifz) Program

Offered by Saskatoon Dawah & Community Center

A flexible Hifdh pathway designed for school-going students and busy adults. Learners memorize the Qur’an steadily while keeping regular school, work, and family commitments—guided by qualified huffaz and tajwid instructors.

Program Overview

  • Goal: Consistent memorization with strong tajwid and muraja‘ah (revision), building toward long-term completion.

  • Schedule: Evening and weekend options; 2–5 sessions per week (60–90 minutes each).

  • Pace: Typical progress ranges 1–3 juz per year, depending on attendance, aptitude, and home practice.

What Students Will Learn

Hifdh & Tajwid

  • Accurate pronunciation (makharij & sifaat) and core rules (ikhfa’, idgham, qalqalah, madd).

  • Daily sabaq (new lines), sabaqi (recent review), and manzil (long-term review).

  • Memorization techniques, retention habits, and adab of Qur’an.

Faith & Character

  • Short reminders on meanings, manners, and implementing Qur’anic ethics in daily life.

Class Format

  • Small groups with individual testing each session.

  • Clear weekly targets and personal memorization plans.

  • Separate cohorts for children, youth, and adults.

Sample Weekly Structure

  • 2–5 classes/week in-centre.

  • Daily home practice: 30–60 minutes (with parent support for minors).

  • Monthly check-ins and a brief oral assessment each term.

Tracking & Support

  • Personal Hifdh logbook and digital tracker.

  • Instructor feedback at each sitting; quarterly progress reports.

  • Make-up/holiday review plans to protect retention.

Who Should Enroll

  • Students who can read the Qur’an with basic fluency and wish to begin or continue memorization.

  • New readers may take (or continue) our Qur’an Reading & Islamic Studies classes alongside Hifdh.
